Minister of Science, Technology, Research and Innovation

Kathmandu — The newly established Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation has officially started its institutional and policy-related duties. The ministry was formed by separating the science and technology portfolio from the former Ministry of Education.

Independent lawmaker and newly appointed minister Mahabir Pun, along with Secretary Pramila Bajracharya, assumed office on Tuesday. The operations have launched from the premises of the former Ministry of Youth and Sports in Singha Durbar. Minister Pun has decided to fast-track an Organisation and Management (O&M) Survey to build a robust structural workflow from scratch. To cut administrative costs and ensure 24/7 oversight, Minister Pun will also reside within the ministry building.
